Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between commercial painting and industrial painting?

A: Industrial and commercial painting share some similarities, but they aren’t entirely the same. Here are some of the things that set them apart:

  • Aesthetics – Commercial buildings are usually for-profit businesses like restaurants or retail stores. These types of businesses focus on aesthetic appeal to draw in customers. Industrial buildings are warehouses, factories, and even garages, and they tend to focus more on durability and functionality more than curb appeal.
  • Turn Around – Commercial buildings get remodeled more often than industrial buildings to keep with current consumer trends. Because of this, they usually use latex paints, which dry faster and require businesses to be closed for shorter periods of time.
  • Coatings – Industrial complexes are known for being places where a lot of heavy-duty work is being done, this requires more durable paint jobs. Because of this, varnishes and coatings are usually applied to industrial jobs that might not be necessary for commercial buildings.
  • Safety – Large industrial complexes require a lot of time and manpower. These types of jobs often have more safety precautions that must be followed than commercial projects.
