New Paints of Restaurants
Q: How long does it take to paint a restaurant?
A: It typically takes three weeks to paint a new restaurant.
Q: What is the process of restaurant painting at McSweeney Commercial Painting?
A: Working with the woodwork and extensive finishing of woodwork in new restaurants is a skill the McSweeney team excels at.
New restaurant paints often require a lot of creativity. This poses a challenge, but our team appreciates the opportunity to think outside the box.
Q: How does McSweeney Commercial Painting prep a restaurant to be painted?
A: Prepping a new restaurant to be painted begins with the submittal process. Months prior to painting, our team submits samples to interpret what the architect is looking for.
This can be extensive. We often work with architects wanting specific texture or stain. In one case, they wanted a color match for a piece of fabric.
The preparation process requires a lot of communication, clarification, and collaboration across teams – all things McSweeney excels at.
Repaints/Renovations of Restaurants
Q: What is the process of restaurant repaints and renovations at McSweeney Commercial Painting?
A: Restaurant repaints/renovations pose a unique challenge since we work around restaurant hours. Our team comes in after closing and completes as much as possible during the night, leaving enough time to clean up before patrons come in that morning.
The margin for error is very slim. While our team has made mistakes, we rectify them and do not repeat them.
Q: How does McSweeney Commercial Painting prep a restaurant to be painted?
A: With restaurant repaints and renovations, prep work involves protecting booths, tables, and bar tops.
These projects require careful attention to detail. For example, one client had our team repaint a wine room. This required extreme care, as there were thousand dollar wine bottles lining the shelves.
Q: Does McSweeney Commercial Painting have a warranty policy for restaurant painting?
A: We have a standard one year warranty for material and/or labor in case of any defects in workmanship.
At the completion of each project, we have a punch list and thorough walk-through with the owner to ensure complete satisfaction. We are not paid until the owner is happy and everything is presentable.
Q: What sets McSweeney Commercial Painting apart from the competition when it comes to restaurant painting?
A: Most commercial paint companies do not want restaurant work, and McSweeney receives many restaurant referrals from competitor companies. This is due to the challenging and sometimes chaotic nature of restaurant projects. Restaurants often have short start to finish dates, with everything changing except the completion time.
Restaurant paint projects also require immense adaptability, as you are working with architects and owners with a variety of ideas that can change rapidly. Multiple subcontractors are working at once, and a high level of quality workmanship is required of all hands on the project.
The McSweeney team has learned how to deal with these challenges and is expert at adapting to restaurant environments. While restaurant paint projects are by far the most challenging, we recognize it and we are used to it. We have mastered delivering high quality work in less than ideal circumstances.
