OUR TEAM

We have a great team of employees serving our clients in Dallas, Fort Worth, Mid-Cities, Arlington, Plano and surrounding areas. Many employees have been with McSweeney since the company’s inception.

Employee training and safety is a way of life at McSweeney Commercial Painting. Our team is constantly learning about the latest paint technologies and application techniques. Employees are trained with current OSHA requirements, including the OSHA 10 hour class for foremen, CPR and first aid, ladder safety, safe scaffold practices, and aerial and scissor lift certification. Monthly in-house safety trainings and weekly safety meetings are held for all employees.

John McSweeney

John McSweeney

CEO & Estimator

John McSweeney has spent his entire professional life doing one thing: painting. He has worked as a painter, drywall finisher, foreman, project manager, estimator, general manager and, for more than 30 years, Owner/President of McSweeney Commercial Painting. He has built the company on long standing relationships with employees, customers and venders but prefers to call them friends.

John enjoys most things that end in ing: hunting, fishing, horseback riding, walking, working, but he did give up golfing (stupid game). Most weekends you can find him ranching in East Texas on a 226 acre cattle ranch he has owned since 2014. John hopes to expand the ranch and retire sometime in the future.

Charlie Durham

Charlie Durham

Charlie Durham has dedicated his career exclusively to the liquid coatings industry. He began his journey as a driver at ICI Paints, quickly advancing to an outside sales representative in the commercial and industrial coatings market with Devoe Coating and Glidden Professional. In the summer of 2013, Charlie joined McSweeney Commercial Painting, initially taking on project management duties.

With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, Charlie approaches each project with professionalism and a friendly attitude. He excels in managing his team to handle scheduling conflicts, addressing damages, and working closely with General Contractors and Owners’ Management teams to deliver the highest quality service and results. His biggest goal is his team being repeatable and referable to his partners in the industry.

Having had the privilege of succeeding owner and CEO John McSweeney through a close working relationship, Charlie is passionate about carrying on the company’s legacy. He is excited to lead the team into the next chapter, ensuring continued excellence in every project.

Beyond his professional life, Charlie cherishes his time with family. He has three daughters—Kennedy (22), Landrie (17), and Gentry (15). He spends time with family and friends going on amazing vacations enjoying wonders of the world and amazing concert experiences, snorkeling is his newest passion and being a less successful fisherman than most, and famously the loudest hunter in town.
